Walking into the restaurant felt like stepping back into a memory—one that hadn’t faded with time, but had only deepened. We were celebrating a birthday, and the atmosphere set the tone: nestled in a tiny Aspen grove, with twinkling lights overhead and the sun setting over the mountains. It felt like a secret moment suspended in time. We started with their signature beet bread, warm and tender, served with a salted butter so good it stopped conversation. A barrel-aged Manhattan rounded it out—smooth, balanced, and just the right kind of celebratory. Our server was not only warm and attentive, but deeply knowledgeable. He’d personally tried every wine on the list and had even visited many of the vineyards. He recommended the most perfect wine pairing—an incredible bottle from Oregon that matched the meal in both flavor and feeling. I ordered the elk—just as I remembered it from nearly fifteen years ago. And remarkably, it was exactly the same. The kind of dish that imprints itself on you, so tender and perfectly prepared that it feels less like a meal and more like a homecoming. To start, I had the asparagus mushroom salad—earthy hazel trumpet mushrooms and asparagus cooked with care, kissed with parsley and citrus zest. Delicate, simple, but vibrant. Then came the massaman curry: fall-apart tender, with a sauce so rich and layered it demanded silence between bites. The blackberry elk was the star, of course—sweet and tender, luxurious and wild all at once. The wine brought it all together like a chord resolving. Though we insisted we were too full for dessert, the staff quietly brought out a warm brownie with a candle—rich, gooey, and full of warmth, just like the service. Classy, thoughtful, never overbearing. The kind of attentiveness that feels like care, not performance. There’s something extraordinary about returning to a restaurant decades later and finding not just consistency, but evolution. In 35 years of service, they’ve kept their soul and their standard. A life-changing culinary experience, once again.

Beautiful mountain views and excellent location. The food was good quality with very fair portion sizes. The service was impeccable - all the servers were incredibly attentive and gracious. We went for our anniversary and received complimentary champagne, which we thought was a thoughtful touch. It’s the kind of restaurant that has become increasingly rare nowadays. It's a place where you can truly be present and enjoy a meal with the company you’re with. It’s not just about sitting down, eating, and leaving. You can savor both the food and the experience. We would gladly return and recommend it to anyone! Photos (Salmon, Cod, Spring Salad, Lobster Raviolo, View from outside restaurant on their deck, Carrot cake)

MUST VISIT! Do yourself a favor and take your phone now and make sure to book a reservation since it gets busy. Service and attention to detail was on point. The food is absolutely amazing, the flat Wagyu was one of the best I’ve tried, everything on that dish was a bliss to my taste buds, it was the very favorite on our table. The whole experience is worth it. Will definitely come again

The art of amazing service at a restaurant is becoming a lost one. Hearthstone made me feel like there is still hope for the type of experiences I love to share with friends when eating out! Our group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed everyone we encountered at Hearthstone last night. Their passion and knowledge about the food Hearthstone served, and the preparation of each item made the experience even more special. The food was also an easy 5 stars. Octopus appetizer - tender and amazing. Mushroom soup - perfect amount of creaminess (not too thick; amazing flavor). Beet salad - beautiful and refreshing. Sticky toffee pudding - do not skip this! We loved our entrees and got the duck, elk, rack of lamb, and a vegetarian dish. Everyone left thrilled and saying it was by far the best food and dining experience we’ve had in Breck. Cocktails were also amazing!

Had a great time here. Such a warm and cozy restaurant. We ate inside, we would have sat outside but I was worried about the rain. The restaurant is so homey. The food was fabulous. Our waiter Ethan was great. Everyone seemed to work together and it made the service fabulous. We had the mushroom soup- sooo good, the ahi tuna- so fresh and yummy and the elk was fabulous! Tender and great flavor.

Hearthstone is one of the rare restaurants that flawlessly execute on every aspect of the dining experience. Food - 10/10. Service - flawless. Atmosphere - it’s a vibe. Our group of four started off with the mushroom soup, beet salad, and octopus. Each was flavorful and pared well together. Entrees included the duck, elk, rack of lamb, and a vegetarian quinoa/corn cake. All perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert, we ended with the sticky toffee pudding. The mix of hot cake and cold ice cream with a toffee drizzle was perfection. Overall, 6 out of 5 stars!!!

We had the Blackberry Elk and Scallops, and they were amazing. The elk was succulent and cooked perfectly, and so were the scallops. The sides dishes married with the proteins nicely. All around our go-to entrees at Hearthstone. We also had the English Sticky Toffee Pudding and loved it! I recommend getting reservations a week before showing up. Also, don't forget about their Happy Hours 4-6pm in the bar/lounge only. Good drinks and appetizer options available to start your night off right. The black rye old fashioned was great but ask them to put a Luxardo cheery in it, because that is not how the drink is served. Enjoy!
